Stephen Kirkman is a character in Fable: The Balverine Order. He is the older brother of Thomas Kirkman and commonly appears in his nightmares about Balverines. When Thomas was young, he and Stephen were in a forest when a Balverine attacked them. Stephen was killed trying to protect Thomas, but he was able to drop a small dagger. Thomas was able to use the dagger to stab the Balverine in its eye and make a quick escape. The night haunts Thomas and nobody believes him, simply saying that Thomas made the story up as an excuse for being unable to rescue Stephen.
