Mr Kirkman is a minor character in Fable: The Balverine Order. He is the husband of Mrs Kirkman and the father of both Stephen and Thomas Kirkman. Mr. Kirkman readily admits to Thomas that he never thought much of him, coming to see Thomas as a frivolous day-dreamer who thought to much about the Heroes of the past. This antagonism grew exponentially when Thomas went out into the forest with his older brother Stephen, who was killed in a vicous balverine attack that Thomas narrowily escaped. Upon arriving home and telling his story, nobody believed him. Mrs Kirkman's health began to fail shortly after, during which Mr. Kirkman convinced her that Thomas was actually Stephen as to spare her the grief from losing her favourite son, a lie she believed right up to her death.

Mrs Kirkman's health began to fail shortly after, during which Mr. Kirkman convinced her that Thomas was actually Stephen as to spare her the grief from losing her favourite son, a lie she believed right up to her death. After his wife dies, the infuriated Mr. Kirkman sets about burning all of Thomas's books. In response, Thomas decides that now is the time to leave and seek out a balverine in order to prove to everyone that he wasn't making the story up.
