The Town Hall Secretary worked under Chief Executive Peter Reynolds in 1989. Having found out that Ken - and hence the Weatherfield Recorder - had a scoop on Maurice Jones's re-development of Coronation Street, Reynolds suspected Deirdre of being his mole. After what she went through previous month when the council thought she'd leaked Ken another story, Deirdre put the record straight and named another council secretary, Wendy Crozier, as Ken's mole.
