She first appeared in Coronation Street in August 1989 as the Secretary of council boss Peter Reynolds and returned to the programme in June 1990 as Sue Jeffers, headmistress of Weatherfield Comprehensive where Derek Wilton worked for a time as assistant caretaker and where Ken Barlow returned to the teaching profession. She appeared intermittently every year until March 1997. Her subsequent roles were prolific and included parts in Emmerdale, Peak Practice and Waking the Dead. She died on 12th January 2012.
