Void runes can be crafted from pure essence only on the void altar in the dungeon of the Sorcerers' Tower. A void talisman is the simplest way of accessing the altar. Void talismans can be combined with a plain tiara to make a void tiara. Runecrafting staves, which can be bought for 10,000 runecrafting guild tokens, can also be combined with a void talisman to make a void runecrafting staff. Omni-talismans, omni tiaras and omni-talisman staves can also be used to gain entry. Technically, 51 Runecrafting is required to craft void runes but the Runecrafting requirement to complete the quest is 60.
