The Aurora-class was a type of space cruiser in service to the Federation Starfleet in the late 22nd century. The class entered service in 2169 following the launch of the prototype SS Aurora. By 2180, over 237 Aurora-class space cruisers had been built. 34 distinct variations of the original design had also entered service, including the Montcalm-class and Meridio-class, which entered service in 2174.
