The Fairmont Hotel was a lodging establishment located in San Francisco, California on Earth. In 2364, when Jean-Luc Picard first entered his Dixon Hill holonovel, based in the year 1941, he was still wearing his Starfleet uniform. Madeline, his secretary, observing the unusual attire, asked him if he lost another bet. Seeing that he was unsure of what she was referring to, she pointed out "the bellboy suit" and proceeded to ask if he was moonlighting at the Fairmont. (TNG: "The Big Goodbye" ) The name of this hotel was changed from Fremont in the script [1] to Fairmont for the episode.
