The Juzimura rebellion was the revolt and subsequent slaughter of thousands of "radical" worshipers of Chantea and their displaced ronin mercenaries by the government forces of Wa around 1337 DR. The followers of the oft-distrusted western goddess Chantea had gathered at Juzimura Castle in the south of Tsukishima, presumably to protest the xenophobic rule of the new Shogun, Matasuuri Nagahide, who had come to power the year before. The shogun sent his troops to purge the castle of its inhabitants and thousands were slaughtered. Subsequently, the shogun declared the worship of Chantea punishable by execution.
