The Economic Council operated within the government of the New Republic. The Council was charged with regulating commerce throughout the galaxy within the borders of each respective government. It dealt with the macroeconomics of the New Republic and worked in hand with the diplomacy officials to ensure the smooth flow of the galactic economy. Each councilmember had one vote, while the Head of the Council had two votes.
