The Gulf Agreement of 1993 was a treaty signed by India, Oman, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States in August 1993, a treaty that pledged to bring the growing threats of piracy in the eastern Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden, and Arabian Sea under control - through shows of naval force - by 2005.
