The Cuellar system was a star system located in Cardassian space near the Federation-Cardassian border. The system was of strategic value as it was within close range of three Federation sectors. In 2367, USS Phoenix Captain Benjamin Maxwell believed a Cardassian space station in the Cuellar system was being utilized by the Cardassians as a staging area for an imminent attack on the Federation.
