On Holy Ground was one of the Forever Knight novels under consideration by Boulevard Books (Berkeley Publishing Group, New York) until Sony pulled the plug on any further Forever Knight media tie-ins. For a short time in 2000, it was privately published by Peacock Press in a limited paperback edition, with proceeds benefiting The Humane Society of the United States, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Help the Children. However, Sony's legal department took exception to this, and issued a cease-and-desist order requiring that it be withdrawn.
