Restorative Yoga is a yoga style that often uses equipment such as bolsters, blocks, blankets, and straps to allow participants to perform yoga poses where they completely let go of all tension and stress. In Restorative Yoga, poses are held for 5 to 20 minutes. In most yoga settings, few classes actually hold a pose for 20 minutes. The restorative yoga method allows the body to effectively release tension. The challenge is allowing yourself to be in stillness, a stillness to help enhance recovery.
