Matoran are the backbone of the Matoran Universe. Divided into fifteen tribes, each tribe has a specific duty to uphold and contributes to their way of life to ensure the continued functionality of the Great Spirit Robot. Matoran that stray from these tasks or are considered odd among their tribe are sometimes destined to become Toa.
