The system was home to the Denebians and the Bandi, and to animals including the Denebian slime devil and Denebian whale. (DS9: "A Man Alone", "The Nagus"; TAS: "The Ambergris Element") According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 41), there were two systems known as Deneb. Alpha Cygni was one and Deneb Kaitos also known as Beta Ceti was the other. In a deleted scene from Star Trek Nemesis, a star system with a similar name, the Denab system, was the first assignment of the USS Enterprise-E after the refit of the ship was complete at the end of the film.
