Al Elmore is a former NASCAR driver from Bishopville, SC. He competed in five Sprint Cup Series events in his career. Elmore's debut came in 1979, when he competed at Nashville for D.K. Ulrich. Starting 18th in the field of twenty-eight, Elmore kept his nose clean at the bullring and was rewarded with a solid 15th place run as a result, a finish that would prove to be his career best. Despite having little experience and racing at some tough tracks, Elmore was impressive in the regard that he was running at the finish of all five of his career starts, recording four top-twenty runs as a result.
