The RG970QMZ features a basswood body with quilted maple top, DiMarzio IBZ pickups, a Wizard Premium neck and an Edge Zero II tremolo. The RG970QMZ was a limited run, Spot model in Japan. The RG970WQMZ followed in 2015, with the main difference being the neck material. The RG970WBWZ is similar except it has a walnut burl top and uses different wood species for the neck.
