Lieutenant Peter Dennon was a United States airman and drone pilot with the 18th Reconnaissance Squadron, stationed at Lower Heyford Air Force Base in United Kingdom during Day 9. At 11:10am, Lt. Chris Tanner arrived on the base to relieve Dennon, who was piloting an MQ-1 Predator flying over Kajaki Province, Afghanistan. Dennon told Tanner that Major Shepherd, their commanding officer on the ground, was displeased and wanted to speak to him, then transferred control of the drone to him and left the control room.
