A ghost imager, also called simply a projector, was a Beta Colony-developed weapon for defensive use. It could be used to project false images, either of the ship using the imager or of some other object; it also functioned successfully as a muffler, concealing a ship so long as the ship also turned off all electromagnetic emissions.
