Naboo II was a huge, beautiful planet inhabitated by many peaceful species. After the destruction of the planet Naboo and the extinction of the Naboo tribe, the Galactic Republic gave this magnificent planet to the surviving Gungans, who were then made its dominant species, as a replacement for their destroyed world. Although The Republic guaranteed the Gungans a strong protection for their planet, Naboo II was assaulted by invading Empire battle droids. After The Empire was stopped by The Republic, security was tightened to protect the planet in order to fulfil their promise. The Republic also upgraded the Gungans military arsenal.
