Chuda Reiko was a Kuni before she married Snake Clan founder Isawa Chuda. She bore him a son, Chuda Yoharu, and was Yoharu's teacher while Chuda traveled Rokugan hunting maho-tsukai. However, in desperation, when she and Yoharu came under attack from a maho cult she called upon maho to save her son. When Chuda learned of what she had done he retired to a monastery were he died soon after. While Yoharu was daimyo, Reiko reserched deeper into maho leading to the Snake Clan's pratice of close study of maho, bluring the line between fascination and corruption.
