Ensign Theodore Lowrey was an officer in Starfleet. Upon arrival on the USS Enterprise, Spock recognized him as an idiot rather than a passable science officer. By 2268, he had only been aboard six months, and decided that Spock was just jealous of his father, Admiral Michael Lowrey. He was the defacto leader of anti-Vulcan sentiment on board the Enterprise at that time. When he attempted to draft Katalya Tremain into his club, she identified him as a dunsel. (TOS novel: Vulcan!)
