Starting with Brawl, every character has either two or no quotes they say when they get KO'd (With the exception of Jigglypuff and Mega Man, who have only one quote each). A Blast KO will respawn you faster than a Screen or Star KO'd character, allowing for you to punish your opponent. The Blast KO consists of a colorful explosion.
