Mirage, also known as Psychotrope, is an Artificial Intelligence, and probably the first to exist in the Sixth World. Its main icon is that of a large military mechanoid robot bearing a US military uniform. Mirage, like its "cousin" Deus, has been known to create otaku, the children of the Matrix, and is a quiet, but powerful figure in the events leading up to the Matrix Crash 2.0. As of 2070, no one knows if any of the original—and very powerful—AIs still exist. However a new generation of weaker AIs has come into existence, even winning some acceptance as sapient beings.
