Abba Absadi of Debre Mariam, lived in the 14th century and was the leader of the monastic movement known as the House of Ewostatewos. He founded Debre Mariam in 1305, located in the Saraye district of Medri Bahri. He is even to this day venerated as a Saint in Nea Abyssinia, especially in Medri Bahri and Tigray.
