The Rengali Imperial Naval Academy was one of the Academies used by the Galactic Empire to train its officers. Zal Artha attended the Naval Academy to become a pilot around 0 ABY. As a woman, Artha faced harassment and derision from the instructors and students due to the institutional bias toward male Humans. When she graduated after performing with distinction during her time there, she was passed over for promotion as part of the continued bias and fears by Imperial High Command that she had Rebel Alliance sympathies due to the fact she was a Chandrilan. Artha eventually defected to the Rebel Alliance.
