Being a well-respected hobbit, Bucca became Thain in place of the King at Fornost in TA 1979 (SR 379). He founded the family of the Oldbucks, who later became the Brandybucks, after settling in the later Eastfarthing. Other aspects of Bucca's life are not known, as was his eventual fate.
