The name of the Birdman cult that existed on Easter Island, the chief god of the Tanagata Manu is Make-make. The Tanagata Manu was discouraged by missionaries in the 1860s, however the Tanagata Manu's popularity and memory was not erased and it is still present in decoration of the island's church.
