Wolves of the Sea was the Latvian entry at the 2008 Contest in Belgrade, Serbia. Pirate-themed band Pirates of the Sea performed the song 10th in the second semi final, after Belarus and before Croatia. Latvia qualified to the final having finished 6th in the semi final, where they placed 12th with 83 points, performing 14th (after Portugal and preceding Sweden.) The song, like the band, is also pirate-themed with the perspective of a pirate crew that will "steal the show" and "conquer it all".
