Loretta Lynn (b. 1935) is one of the most celebrated and honored country singers. She was the guest star on The Muppet Show episode 308. For Sesame Street, she sang "Count on Me" with the Count, which was also separately recorded for the 1981 album Sesame Country. She also appeared on the show performing "Songs Are For Singing" with the kids (EKA: Episode 2482). Her signature song is "Coal Miner's Daughter." She was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988. Her younger sister, Crystal Gayle, was also a Muppet Show guest.
