Usage stats on CBS Television Studios

This company was formed as the result of a 2005 split between the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) and Viacom, the latter of which owned Paramount Television. It is currently a division of CBS Studios, which now owns the trademarks for Star Trek and all related marks, having it acquired from Paramount Pictures, meaning that after four decades, Paramount not only lost its television division, but in essence also the Star Trek franchise (only retaining a license through CBS to produce theatrical Star Trek films). The new Star Trek: Discovery television series marks the very first time that Paramount is entirely out of the loop of a Star Trek live-action show.
