Lookout! Records is an independent record label started in 1987 by Lawrence Livermore and David Hayes. Lawrence Livermore started the band the Lookouts and recruited Frank Edwin Wright III to play drums when he was just 12 years old. Livermore gave the future Green Day drummer the name Tré Cool. David Hayes left the label in 1989 and Livermore went on to release a number of punk records by bands in the East Bay area, such as the Queers and Screeching Weasel, which later came to define the pop-punk sound. Green Day released two E.P.s and two L.P.s through Lookout! records before moving to Reprise records. Livermore sold the label in 1997 to Chris Appelgren but it continues to put out records and has maintained it's reputation as a quality pop-punk record label.
