Shigeda was a 23rd century Human man, of Asian descent. In the 2260s, Shigeda served in Starfleet as an engineer. In 2268, while serving on Federation starship USS Enterprise he developed a strong dislike for Vulcans and joined Theodore Lowrey's anti-Vulcan group. He was very skilled at working on environmental systems. (TOS novel: Vulcan!)
