The awakened species of the humpback whale, the Meistersinger (Megaptera palestrina) whale is of the same size and coloration, but with a distinctively larger head and more neural development. They live and fish the northern seas like the humpback and are well known for their whalesong, which science has yet to understand. Although scientific investigations have not led to the discovery of sentience, magical communication with the creatures leads many hermetic and shaminic mages with the sincere belief that not only are the creatures sentient, but almost as knowledgeable about the sixth world's history as most dragons.
