The company has been known as Putilovsky Zavod from 1868-1922; Krasny Putilovets from 1922-1934; First Kirovets; JSC Tractor Plant of Saint Petersburg; JSC Kirovsky Zavod. In 2013, Kirovets established a 50/50 joint venture with the Italian companey SAME Deutz-Fahr, called SAME Deutz-Fahr Kirovets Ltd. Tractors are to be manufactured under the Deutz-Fahr Kirovets brand.
