Lieutenant Palmer was a 23rd century Starfleet operations division officer who served aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk. Palmer served as the relief communications officer in the absence of Lieutenant Uhura. In 2269, Palmer was serving at communications, trying to contact the stolen space cruiser Aurora while the Enterprise was on course to intercept it.
