Lorel is a half-Vulcan, half-Human hybrid born in 2538. He is the great-grandson of Spock. At an early age, Lorel chose logic as his guide. As he never saw his great-grandfather alive, Lorel would often recreate holographic simulations of him, to talk and to receive advice from the celebrated diplomat. He once met Derek Turnbull at a conference on Galorndon Core. In 2598, Lorel was appointed as the Federation president of the United Federation of Planets in an emergency meeting, after the previous president, Medji Crassana, was killed.
