Tales of the Slayer are prose short story anthologies in volumes published by Pocket Books. The stories concern past Slayers. Two members of Mutant Enemy Productions contributed to the prose. Jane Espenson contributed "Again, Sunnydale" and "Two Teenage Girls at the Mall", while Rebecca Rand Kirshner contributed the short story "The War Between the States". Some fans argue that only these three stories deserve a place in canon.
