Prowl's life before the war began with him as a member of the Petrex security forces. He managed to rise up through the ranks thanks to his ever-growing pension for strategy. One of his pet peeves during his time in the force was the fact that Malignus crime syndicate always managesd to escape detection despit every search made for them. Prowl managed to achieve the rank of 3rd-in-Command before the war began. His decision to join the Autobots was in small part to Malignus' annex into the organization, but the deciding factor he has kept ambiguous. Prowl was selected by Optimus Prime to be apart of his energon search team after Cybertron ran dry (the other members included Jazz, Ironhide, Wheeljack, Ratchet, and Bumblebee).
