Caitlin Emily Rutherford was a Starfleet officer on active duty in the late 23rd century. Born in 2271, Rutherford graduated 14th in a class of 800 from Starfleet Academy. She was assigned as ship's mathematician on the USS Avenger on 31 May 2293, succeeding Xiomara Michaelsen, who had transferred to the USS Blackheart. (Star Trek: Avenger: "A Visit to the Physical Science Chief's Office") Rutherford also had a brief appearance in Star Trek: Shadowstar Station: "Pomp and Circumstantial Evidence", set in 2296.
