Lord Hightor was a ruler of Salamandastron. He was the husband of Lady Merola and father of Sagaxus. He was also a friend of Colonel Whippscut. Lord Hightor had warned his son about Kroova Wavedog, but Sagaxus refused to listen his father. Though his son was a rebel, Hightor was proud of him afterwards.
