Mr. Owens was the father of Sarah Owens from Iowa. He came to town when Sarah's drinking began getting out of control at the request of Hillary Michaels. During his stay, Tom kept trying to reach Sarah, but it wasn't until they attended an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting and Tom announced himself as an alcoholic that Sarah began realize the error of her ways. As a final act, Tom confronted Ben Singer at the wedding of Adam Louder and Monique Duran about giving Sarah drugs. He then punched him out and told him he'd kill him if he ever came near Sarah again.
