The Customs Patrol was a uniformed service of the Earth Union in the 3rd Century PD. It employed armed cutters to patrol the Sol System and enforce traffic and trade laws, as well as offer protection from pirates. Only citizens born on Earth were allowed to serve as officers on these ships. (HHA6.1: BTB)
