Mr Midgeley is the former husband of Jenny Bradley and father of Tom Midgeley. In 2008 their son Tom was born and less than five years later he drowned in a paddling pool after Jenny went to get him an ice-cream. Following Tom's, death Jenny and Mr Midgeley divorced.
