Masked Link (also known as Young Link or in Japan, Child Link) is an unlockable veteran playable character in Super Smash Bros. Chronicles. Masked Link previously appeared in Melee as Young Link but has been extremely buffed since his last appearance. Even though all transformations were removed in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Masked Link is the only character that currently has a transformation. Sakurai said that transformations would only be in Masked Link because "it wouldn't really make sense to separate the characters, and it would be a waste of four characters". All of Masked Link's transformations have no custom specials.
