Betsy Connell (Frances Dee), a Canadian nurse, relates in a voiceover how she once "walked with a zombie."Betsy is hired to care for the wife of Paul Holland (Tom Conway), a sugar plantation owner on the Caribbean island of Saint Sebastian.
