The Library of Congress started posting public domain images from a Coney Island Sideshow to Flickr in 2008. They are genuine color slides from the 1930s - 40s. One such photo was of Voltess, the Girl who Defied Electricity. This side show was said to have drawn crowds of around 20,000 people on a busy weekend afternoon. Admission to the sideshow was 10 cents a person.
