The Treana was an Orion freighter that had operated in the mid to late 23rd century. In February, 2268 the Treana was crippled by an unknown gravitational anomaly on the edge of space controlled by the Gorn Hegemony. The freighter sent out a distress call. A Gorn cruiser responded and took the freighter into "protective custody". The Gorns towed the Treana to the border planet of Seudath. The Gorn then started repairs on the Treana as a courtesy, however Starfleet estimated that it was a front so that the Gorns could conduct military analysis on the vessel.
