George Osborne is a former british politician who served as Chancellor of the Exchequer (2007 - 2010). He previously served as Chief Secretary to the Treasury (2003 - 2005) and Business Secretary (2005 - 2007). He entered parliament at the 2000 election for the safe conservative seat of Tatton. Osbornes political rise was rapid, being promoted a junior minister in 2001, and entering cabinet in 2003.
