The Penumbra-class Assault Frigate was the last "modern" warship built by the Echani Confederation before the rise of Empire. First fielded around 35 BBY they were Very agile and well armed craft, relying more on on its armor then its shields for defense. Its Agrinium plated armor absorbed and dispersed most of the energy that contacted it allowing it to operate with its shields down for extended periods of time.
